Employment permit
For incomers from outside the EEA or from Bulgaria or Romania who will be staying in the Netherlands for longer than three months, an employment permit is usually required to allow them to work here. This is regulated by the Foreign Nationals (Employment) Act and must be requested from UWV WERKbedrijf.

Residence permit
Incomers who will be staying in the Netherlands for longer than three months must register with the Immigration and Naturalisation Department (IND). This applies to foreign nationals from both within and outside the EEA. The procedure is, however, different in the two cases, see IND for details.
